• Our area was host for the 1981, '82, '83, '86, '93, '97, 2003, 2004, 2011, and 2012 Muskie Inc. Gil Hamm Chapter Challunge tournaments. The winner of this tournament chooses the location and host resort for the following year. Red Wing Lodge has been picked as the headquarters of this tournament EIGHT times by various chapters of Muskie Inc. in: 1983, 1986, 1993, 1997, 2003, 2004, 2011 and again for 2012!!!

Hunting at Red Wing Lodge

The hunting is fantastic! When the bluebills and mallards come down, they stop and feed on the wild rice all over Lake of the Woods. Plan a fall hunting and fishing trip… this is when most big fish are caught, between morning and evening shoots! We also offer grouse, deer and bear hunting. Our bear management area is restricted to Red Wing Lodge guests, so most hunters are successful. 

NOTE: In order to acquire a Canadian hunting license, you must have in your possession a current or previous hunting license, although a hunter safety certificate is also accepted. Hunters must register at Canada customs and list their firearms.
