Musky
Fishing Lake of the Woods
Lake
of the Woods is a beautiful and unique lake. With
65,000 miles of shoreline and 14,000 charted islands
(more than any lake on the North American continent).
Lake of the Woods offers excellent fishing, hunting
and sightseeing. The fishing is terrific!
Red Wing
Lodge is located in a well protected bay, so being
able to fish is always assured. Even if the wind
is blowing, you can fish among the many sheltering
islands in Sabaskong Bay. The bay is known for tasty
walleye and trophy muskie fishing that can
be found in waters close to camp. There is an abundance
of northern pike, smallmouth bass, crappie and lake
trout in our area, too.

Hunting
at Red Wing Lodge
The
hunting is fantastic! When the bluebills and mallards
come down, they stop and feed on the wild rice all over
Lake of the Woods. Plan a fall hunting and fishing trip…
this is when most big fish are caught, between morning
and evening shoots! We also offer grouse, deer and bear
hunting. Our bear management area is restricted to Red
Wing Lodge guests, so most hunters are successful.
NOTE:
In order to acquire a Canadian hunting license, you
must have in your possession a current or previous hunting
license, although a hunter safety certificate is also
accepted. Hunters must be registered at Canadian Customs
and list their guns.
